Combat Flight Action
Halo Hunters was created for a 3 week school gamejam in the 2nd year of university. In Halo Hunters you race through Halos around floating islands with angel or demon influenced ships all while blasting the devil out of each other.
During the second year of university we had a term during which we had 3 short game projects. For one of these game marmalades we were tasked to come up with a game based on an image. The image was one of a devil and an angel playing games.
The resulting game was an arcade flying combat game with a theme that could only be described as "futuristic theology". In it players are given a futuristic plane/spaceship themed to be either "angelic" and "demonic". Using said planes they are engaged in a race through halos while battle each other using their primary weapon systems and pickups.
Creating solid and intuitive flying gameplay;
Further improving and expanding gameplay where necessary or possible (Pickups);
Designing player HUD;
Designing player controls;
Working with artists to implement assets;
Working with programmers to implement features;
Sticking to the scope, vision and theme when designing
